It is being reported that former UFC welterweight top contender Josh Koscheck will be rolling out the welcome back wagon for MMA vet Frank Trigg at UFC 103 on September 19th.
Although this bout had been Rumored since Trigg re-signed with the UFC last week, MMAJunkie.com confirmed the scrap today with sources close to the situation.
Trigg will end his three-and-a-half-year hiatus from the Octagon to face a man that desperately needs to walk away with a W. Kos has dropped two of his last three fights, with his last coming in devastating fashion.
Paulo Thiago violently TKO’d the American Kickboxing Academy fighter in the 1stRound of their UFC 95 tussle, leaving Koscheck to pick up the pieces of his shattered career.
Trigg holds a 19-6 overall mixed martial arts record, however only managed a 2-3 mark in his first stint with the UFC. The 37-year-old signed a four-fight deal with the world’s biggest MMA organization, and it will be interesting to see how much more he has left in the tank.
It is being reported that the UFC will make its first-ever appearance in the Lone Star State, and the only venue large enough to house a UFC event would be the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas.
