The magic that is Twitter continues as former WEC featherweight champ Urijah Faber provides updates regarding his injured money makers. That’s correct, Faber now states that both of his hands are damaged, with his right requiring him to have surgery today.
“On my way 2 the hospital 4 surgery on my rt hand. I’m going under 4 abt 2 hrs. Ill keep everyone posted,” Faber Tweeted at approximately 10:48 PT this morning.
Faber, who broke his righty in the 1stRound of his highly anticipated rematch with champ Mike Brown, shared his nasty X-Ray photos with us yesterday.
Here it is again if you missed it. You can clearly see that the two-far right bones are broken:
Here’s the kicker … Faber is revealing now that his left haymaker is starting to show signs of irritation as he Tweeted the following message just after he announced his impending surgery.
“My left swelled up last night pretty bad, gonna have it re-checked for a fracture.”
Many didn’t realize, however yours truly did, that Faber appeared to have injured both of his hands during his unanimous decision loss to Brown as he was very conservative in letting them go.
It was obvious that Faber’s right hand was done, which he confirmed to his cornerman after the opening round, however nothing was publicly mentioned of his left.
That is until now. Instead of throwing solid left jabs, Faber opted to throw open left-handed slaps instead, which tends to indicate a hand injury.
No word on how long the 145-pound sensation will be out for, however no doubt he will Tweeting us shortly.
