It appears fans just can’t get enough of the trash talking between former light heavyweight champs Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Rashad Evans. Wednesday night’s debut of “UFC Primetime: Rampage vs. Evans” was the highest-rated “UFC Countdown” show in Spike TV history.
According to the network, the 30-minute show captured 1.2 million viewers during its initial run at 11PM ET/PT. The documentary scored big with the two most coveted demographics, as it posted a 1.2 rating among Males Ages 18 to 34, as well as a 1.1 mark among Males 18 to 49.
Last night’s episode was the first of the three-part series. Subsequent episodes will air on successive Wednesdays, May 19th and May 26th, during the same timeslot to help promote May 29th’s UFC 114 event.
The debut episode of “UFC Primetime: St-Pierre vs. Hardy” was the previous record-holder with an average audience of 1 million viewers.
On last night’s episode, cameras followed Evans as he prepared for his bitter rival under the tutelage of MMA guru Greg Jackson, while Rampage worked with the talented Wolfslair Academy across the pond in England.
