As expected, it’s been officially announced that “UFC on Versus 2: Jones vs. Matyushenko” will take place August 1st inside the Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The card will be headlined by a pivotal light heavyweight scrap between up-and-coming superstar Jon Jones and MMA journeyman Vladimir Matyushenko.

Jones was last seen shoving his elbow in Brandon Vera’s face at “UFC on Versus 1.” The 1stRound TKO victory bumped his record to an impressive 10-1 mark. Jones’ only blemish came in a controversial disqualification to Matt Hamill when he landed an illegal north-south elbow to the wrestler’s head.

Although Matyushenko has been around the world and back again, he wasn’t quite the step up in competition that fans were hoping Jones would face in his next outing. However, the veteran holds an impressive 24-4 record and has rattled off wins in 10 of his last 11 contests.

The UFC also announced fast-rising middleweight stud Mark Munoz will be pitted against former top contender Yushin Okami in the night’s co-main event.

Here are the other contestants slated/rumored for the Versus broadcast:

Rob Kimmons vs. Steve Steinbeiss
James Irvin vs. Igor Pokrajac
Brian Stann vs. Mike Massenzio
DaMarques Johnson vs. Matt Riddle
Jake Ellenberger vs. John Howard
Joe Stevenson vs. Takanori Gomi
Mark Munoz vs. Yushin Okami
Vladimir Matyushenko vs. Jon Jones
