Just two months removed from undergoing brain surgery, UFC welterweight Thiago Alves was given a clean bill of health by his doctors.
TMZ.com is reporting “The Pitbull” had an angiogram yesterday morning, a post-operation procedure that took several hours, and the results were better than expected.
The celebrity gossip website states Alves’ doctor is in the process of submitting a letter to the New Jersey Boxing Commission declaring the Brazilian physically fit to fight.
Alves went under the knife to have an abnormality on the left side of his brain corrected after a pre-fight UFC 111 CT Scan revealed an “irregularity.”
The Brazilian was ultimately forced out of his rematch against Jon Fitch just 50 hours before showtime. Thankfully, the pivotal 170-pound mulligan has been rescheduled for UFC 117.
UFC 117 is expected to take place August 7th inside the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.
