While the verbal assaults between Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Rashad Evans have provided plenty of unforgettable soundbites, UFC president Dana White believes Evans’ claims of Rampage being an “Uncle Tom” was within bounds.
The remark immediately had fans thinking of the legendary boxing match between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier. Before their first encounter in 1971, Ali accused the champion of being an “Uncle Tom.” Frazier later admitted the racial remark immensely affected his life for many years.
UFC 114 will be jumping off this Saturday inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
