In a surprising announcement, up-and-coming heavyweight Junior dos Santos has been pulled from his UFC 102 scrap against Justin McCully.
Today, McCully told MMAJunkie.com that he will now be taking on Mike Russow inside the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon.
The MMA vet did not know why the UFC pulled dos Santos from the card, and calls to his representatives were not immediately returned.
McCully has won five out of his last six fights, including his most recent conquest over Eddie Sanchez at “Ultimate Fight Night 16” this past December.
The August 29th event will mark Russow’s Octagon debut, however he will be riding a seven-fight winning streak into the cage. He has finished in all seven of those W’s, with six of those via submission.
