The official numbers are in for “UFC 114: Rampage vs. Evans” and they are sightly lower than what was announced immediately following the highly anticipated event. A total of 13,294 paying customers witnessed Rashad Evans easily outpoint Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in the night’s featured contest.
UFC president Dana White had originally claimed 15,081 fans packed the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada for a live gate of $3.895 million, but the final numbers released today came in a bit lower at $3.730 million.
According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, 952 tickets were given away for promotional purposes.
UFC 114 now ranks as the organization’s fifth highest gate at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The top spot is owned by UFC 66, which featured the rematch between bitter rivals Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz.
With his win over Jackson, Evans earned himself a light heavyweight title shot against newly-crowned champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
