As expected, Josh Koshcheck will be entering his inevitable matchup with welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre as a significant underdog. Although Kos is doing everything within his power to tick the planet’s best 170-pounder off, the Gambling Gods don’t believe Koscheck stands much of a chance.
The challenger shouldn’t feel too badly because GSP was an 8-to-1 favorite in his last outing against Dan Hardey, so at -450 it appears the powers that be believe Koscheck will be able to present greater resistance than the Brit.
The welterweights are currently serving as opposing coaches on “The Ultimate Fighter 12.” Once the lightweight tournament concludes, Koscheck will be granted a shot to redeem his unanimous decision loss to St-Pierre at UFC 74.
Regardless, the gambling game waits for no one. Here are the early betting lines, courtesy of Bodog.com:
Josh Koscheck +300
Georges St-Pierre -450
