Strikeforce will face quite a bit of resistance from their MMA counterparts tomorrow night when they host their Showtime broadcast featuring company golden boy Fedor Emelianenko.
The UFC and Spike TV will be airing a first-time replay of May’s “UFC 113: Machida vs. Shogun II” pay-per-view broadcast on Saturday at 9PM ET/PT. UFC 113 featured the highly anticipated light heavyweight rematch between Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and then-champ Lyoto Machida.
The UFC’s decision to counter-program, specifically with UFC 113, shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. Prior to this weekend’s UFC 115 event, the May 8th card was the UFC’s only PPV show out of its last four where the main event ended in exciting fashion and wasn’t met with choruses of boos from fans siting Octagon-side.
