Two of the most imposing figures in UFC heavyweight history will square off to determine the champion when Brock Lesnar defends his title against interim champ Shane Carwin on July 3rd.
In lieu of the history making extravaganza, Spike TV and the UFC have announced that the “Countdown to UFC 116” preview show will debut on June 28th to help hype the pay-per-view event.
The one hour show will document the lives of both Lesnar and Carwin in the weeks leading up to their epic showdown.
With yesterday’s announcement regarding a rib injury to Wanderlei Silva, it is unknown if the UFC will run the show as originally taped or fill-in his slot with another bout.
Silva was set to face Yoshihiro Akiyama in a middleweight bout, but was replaced by Chris Leben, who competed at “The Ultimate Fighter 11 Finale” this past Saturday night.
