Former UFC heavyweight Fabricio Werdum knows he has his hands full at “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Werdum” when he steps into the cage with the man who could quite possibly go down as the greatest heavyweight of all-time.
According to our friends at BetUS, Fedor Emelianenko is more than a 5-to-1 favorite to win (-550) in his main event bout against the Brazilian.
The winner of the fight will likely challenge Alistair Overeem for the Strikeforce heavyweight title.
“I’m a Fedor fan. This is a very great honor for me to fight the No. 1 fighter in the world. I don’t think he has any weaknesses. I thank Fedor for taking this fight with me,” said Werdum.
Not many give him any shot to beat the Russian, who currently owns an outrageous 31-1 professional record with his only loss coming after being cut :17 seconds into a fight, but Werdum feels he’s ready to take on the biggest challenge of his career.
“I’m ready for this fight. This is an opportunity of a lifetime for me. I’ve lived my whole life for this fight,” a confident Werdum stated.
