It didn’t take long for the UFC and Spike TV to drop the hammer on Kendall Grove following his verbal jabs at Spike’s producers of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality series.

The middleweight fight between Grove and Goran Reljic has been relegated to an un-aired bout, while Seth Petruzelli vs. Ricardo Romero was promoted to fill the vacant spot.

As we reported yesterday, “Da Spyder” appeared on Monday’s edition of TapouT Radio and said that Spike basically runs the entire show and could care less about the fighters who are on it.

“It’s a business to Spike TV, that’s who runs it. Spike TV. This is just a theory of mine, but Spike TV pretty much runs everything off of ‘The Ultimate Fighter,” Grove said.

He went on to say how he felt that the show’s producers let things go just to sell ratings and gave his opinion on how he thought the higher-ups felt about the fighters.

“People do that stuff. Why? Because it’s ratings. Is it a health violation? Hell yeah, but did you see the Spike TV people stop that from happening?” asked Grove. “No, but it sells ratings and that’s all they care about. They could give two [expletives] about our careers.

“They just care about the six weeks that they’re shooting and trying to get as much drama and stupidity out of us and that’s all we are to them is cattle and sheep.”

Grove went back on the show on Wednesday to apologize for the comments that he made, but it was too little, too late.

“I’d like to send out my deepest apologies to the producers at Spike, after all that’s what saved the UFC, I think. There I go putting my foot in my mouth, but the show does wonders for careers. It did for mine,” the Hawaiian said.

Unfortunately, Spike and Co. didn’t appreciate what Grove had expressed and decided to make the switch. A source close to the fight explained why to MMAJunkie.

“Kendall made his feelings clear about Spike TV,” the anonymous source stated. “Besides, Seth has a great story and is a ‘TUF’ alum.”
