UFC welterweight Georges St-Pierre

After witnessing Fedor Emelianenko’s 27-fight winning streak quickly dissipate, gambling addicts worldwide immediately started wondering what the odds on MMA’s two other “Untouchables” would be in their next outings.

As expected, UFC champions Georges St-Pierre and Anderson Silva will be entering their respective title defenses as massive favorites to retain their straps. In fact, the Gambling Gods have spoken and they profess each is a 4.5-to-1 favorite to dominate their worthy adversaries.

Josh Koshcheck shouldn’t feel too badly because GSP was an 8-to-1 favorite in his last outing against Dan Hardy, so at -450 it appears the powers that be believe Koscheck will be able to present greater resistance than the Brit.

Coincidentally, the sports books also had “The Spider” pegged as an 8-to-1 favorite in his last outing against Demian Maia at UFC 112. Clearly, the GG’s believe Sonnen’s superior wrestling warrants him a better chance than the one Maia was dealt.

GSP and Kos are currently serving as coaches on this season of “The Ultimate Fighter” and will duel after filming wraps on the reality show. Silva and Sonnen will headline UFC 117 on August 7th inside Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA.

Here are the early betting odds, courtesy of Bodog.com:

Anderson Silva -450
Chael Sonnen +300

Josh Koscheck +300
Georges St-Pierre -450
