UFC poster 116 Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin

UFC 116 took place Saturday night inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Champion Brock Lesnar was looking to re-unify the heavyweight crown against interim champ Shane Carwin in the card’s main event.

Lesnar owns a 4-1 record and was last seen steamrolling Frank Mir at UFC 100 in July 2009. After unifying the heavyweight belt, the controversial wrestler contracted mononucleosis and parlayed that into diverticulitis.

Speaking of mauling Mir, Carwin accomplished the same feat to become interim title holder when he put the former champion down in the 1stRound at UFC 111 in March. Carwin owns a dominant 12-0 professional record and has finished all of his fights in the 1stRound.
