Both hero-s.com and mirko-crocop.com announced what had already been expected, the announcement of a new MMA organization in Japan called “DREAM”. On a statement on Mirko Cro Cop’s official website they announced, “the first event is going to be held [at] Saitama on March 15 and Mirko [Cro Cop] will appear on this card”. FEG wants to continue off of the success of Yarennoka with what they are calling a “grand coalition”. The first DREAM event will also feature a Lightweight Grand Prix according to the press conference notes.

The nine fighters that were announced for the Lightweight Grand Prix are: Shinya Aoki, JZ Calvancante, Tatsuya Kawajiri, Mitsuhiro Ishida, Andre Dida, Caol Uno, Joachim Hansen, Gilbert Melendez, Luis Azeredo. This event is shaping up to becoming the biggest card of the new year thus far.

Pre-sale tickets will be sold starting on February 17th and the general public sales will start on February 24th.

We’ll have more information on this event when the details emerge.
