According to MMAjunkie.com, former welterweight champ Matt Serra will make his Octagon return against a familiar foe. “The Terror” appears to be headed for a rematch with Chris Lytle at UFC 119 on September 25th.
The 170-pounders first met in the finals of “The Ultimate Fighter 4” back in November 2006. Serra took home an uneventful split decision to capture the six-figure UFC contract and an immediate shot at champion Georges St-Pierre. Serra went on to shock the mixed martial arts world by posting the biggest upset of 2007 when he put GSP down in the 1stRound at UFC 69.
Lytle owns an extensive 29-17-5 pro resume and is currently enjoying a three-fight winning streak. In perhaps the most impressive showing of his career, Lytle sunk in a triangle choke/straight arm bar submission on Matt Brown at UFC 116 last Saturday.
This will be a homecoming of sorts for Lytle, as UFC 119 will be jumping off inside Conseco Fieldouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. Lytle is from the Hoosier State.
Here are the fighters expected/rumored to participate in the pay-per-view broadcast:
