It is being reported that up-and-coming UFC welterweight Anthony Johnson will be taking on Yoshiyuki Yoshida at UFC 104 inside the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

MMAJunkie.com confirmed with sources close to the situation that verbal agreements have been made and contracts should be signed shortly.

This announcement comes on the heels of Johnson’s recent arrest for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend on June 27th. “Rumble” is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing on July 17th.

One of the division’s most athletic and explosive fighters, Johnson currently holds a 7-2 professional record and is riding a two-fight winning streak.

Before Yoshida made his jump to the Octagon, he was one of Japan’s best welterweight competitors. He stakes claim to an impressive 11-3 mark, however is only 1-1 for the UFC.

Yoshida will clearly be the biggest test of Johnson’s young career, however an impressive W could very well have him in title contention talks.

Here are the fighters slated to be competing in the October 24th show:

Patrick Barry vs. Antoni Hardonk
Ryan Bader vs. Eric Schafer
Kyle Kingsbury vs. Razak Al-Hassan
Anthony Johnson vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida
Shane Carwin vs. Cain Velasquez
Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. Lyoto Machida (UFC Light Heavyweight Champion)
