“The New York Bad Ass” Phil Baroni won’t be coming to Boston for UFC 118 after injuring his collarbone during training.
The UFC only needed to look across the Hudson River to find his replacement, as MMADiehards has reported that Dan Miller will step in for the injured Baroni.
Miller will be taking on John Salter on the undercard of the UFC’s first event in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dan, the older brother of UFC lightweight contender Jim, has gone 3-3 in his UFC career which consisted of two pairs of streaks. He started things off by winning three consecutive fights, but is currently suffering through a trio of losses. To say he badly needs a win would be an understatement, as his lopsided unanimous decision loss to Michael Bisping at UFC 114 is still fresh in his head.
Salther, on the other hand, has gone 1-1 in his two Octagon appearances and is coming off a victory over long-time UFC vet Jason MacDonald at UFC 113.
UFC 118 will emanate from the TD Garden in Boston on August 28th on pay-per-view and Spike TV. Here is how the revamped roster shapes up:
John Salter vs. Dan Miller
Amilcar Alves vs. Mike Pierce
Nick Osipczak vs Greg Soto
Andre Winner vs. Nik Lentz
(Spike TV 9PM ET/6PM PT)

Joe Lauzon vs. Terry Etim
Nate Diaz vs. Marcus Davis
