Soon after reports came out that KJ Noons turned down a rematch with Nick Diaz, representatives from American Top Team have announced that Yves Edwards (33-13-1) will challenge Noons for his 160-lbs. title on April 26th. On a post in the Underground Forums, the people from ATT said, “Just confirmed – Yves Edwards will be fighting ElitexXC 160 lb Champ KJ Noons for the belt April 26th!!” Edwards is coming off of an impressive victory over James Edson Berto at EliteXC’s Street Certified this past Saturday.

Edwards is riding a three fight winning streak following a three fight losing streak and will look to derail the quick rising Noons.

We’re still working on getting the KJ Noons/Nick Diaz rematch figured out, but for now we do know that Noons will be fighting on  April 26th, just not against Diaz.

Here’s what the ATT camp had to say on the fight:

Just confirmed – Yves Edwards will be fighting EliteXC 160 lb Champ KJ Noons for the belt April 26th!!

Yves is coming off a big KO win over Edson Berto last weekend and is currently riding a 3 fight win streak.

Yves will be back training at the main academy in Coconut Creek, FL. to start preparing for his fight.
We look forward to working with Yves and getting him ready to fight for the belt!”
