According to reports, the UFC and Spike TV will continue their generous ways by broadcasting another major Octagon show, this time the yet-to-be announced UFC 122 fight card, for free on the edgy cable network.
MMAJunkie.com has confirmed with sources close to the situation that the November 13th event inside the Konig Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen, Germany will air via a six-hour same-day tape-delay on Spike TV.
No bouts have been rumored or booked for the organization’s return to Germany. However, expect for the card to feature plenty of Germans as the UFC continues their aggressive march towards global dominance.
“UFC 99: Franklin vs. Silva,” the company’s debut in the country back in June 2009, was met with quite a bit of backlash. Despite the resistance from the German media, which resulted in a ban on minors from attending the show, UFC president Dana White vowed they would return and it appears that he’s kept his word.
It was previously announced that October 16’s UFC 120 event in London, England would also air via same-day tape-delay on Spike TV. No word on whether the UFC will continue their giving ways into the Holiday Season … Don’t count on it.
