The official weigh-ins for “WEC 50: Cruz vs. Benavidez” took place Tuesday at The Pearl at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

Newly crowned champ Dominick Cruz will defend his bantamweight crown against Joseph Benavidez in the card’s featured attraction.

Cruz captured the 135-pound title this past March when he dethroned Brian Bowles. Bowles suffered a broken right punching hand during the 2ndRound of their WEC 47 scrap and told doctors he wouldn’t be able to answer the 3rdRound bell.

Although Cruz looked sharp against the former champ, his lopsided unanimous decision victory over Benavidez to earn the title shot was much more impressive, if not surprising. Benavidez now has the chance to not only avenge the only loss of his professional career, but also capture his first major title.

Here are the results for today’s weigh-ins:

Preliminary Bouts:

Danny Castillo (156) vs. Dustin Poirier (156)
Bryan Caraway (145) vs. Fredson Paixao (145)
Dave Jansen (156) vs. Ricardo Lamas (155)
Mackens Semerzier (146) vs. Javier Vazquez (145)
Maciej Jewtuszko (155) vs. Anthony Njokuani (154)
Zach Micklewright (156) vs. Bart Palaszewski (156)

Main Bouts:

Scott Jorgensen (135) vs. Brad Pickett (136)
Chad Mendes (145) vs. Cub Swanson (146)
Anthony Pettis (155) vs. Shane Roller (156)
