WEC Bantamweight Champ Dominick Cruz

WEC 50 will be jumping off tonight inside The Pearl at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. Newly crowned champ Dominick Cruz will defend his 135-pound title against Joseph Benavidez in the card’s featured attraction.

Cruz surprisingly dominated Benavidez for a unanimous decision victory at WEC 42 to earn a title shot against then champ Brian Bowles at WEC 47. The dynamic Cruz took full advantage of his opportunity by stopping Bowles by TKO to capture the belt.

Benavidez earned his golden ticket by trouncing former bantamweight king Miguel Torres in his last outing. He now has the chance to not only avenge the only blemish of his professional career, but also win his first major championship.

Watch all of the card’s main bouts live tonight on Versus beginning at 9PM ET/6PM PT.
