Earlier last week week, the UFC made a deal with Yahoo! to broadcast their Pay-Per-View events online. Prior to the agreement the UFC had been broadcasting their online events on UFC.com, but according to Dana White Yahoo! “is a huge strategic partner” to his plans of going global.

After UFC 81 though, White was interviewed by Steve Cofield of Fox Sports and White had said that he was going out of town to work on a deal. It was first rumored that the deal was going to be the sale of the UFC but White quickly squashed that rumor.

Many MMA fans got their hopes when it was being talked about that the UFC would be making some sort of network television deal, but its now known that the deal was the Yahoo! online agreement.

Although White is right in his assessment of the magnitude of his Yahoo! partnership, but he’s going to have to do a lot more than that to truly make the UFC a global organization.
