Bellator Fighting Championships

For those of you who may have missed it, Bellator 25 took place Thursday night in Chicago. The up-and-coming MMA promotion hosted some impressive opening round bouts for their heavyweight and women’s tournaments last night in Chitown.

Bellator and its fighters invaded the Chicago Theatre. The night featured eight bouts in all, with four airing during Fox Sports Net’s broadcast.

UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar’s training partner was in action, as Cole Konrad took on Rogent Lloret in the evening’s final aired bout. The former two-time NCAA Division I wrestling champion was out to find a spot in the semi-finals of the Bellator’s heavyweight tourney.

Strikeforce veteran Zoila Frausto was also in the cage, as she was looking to capitalize on her recent victory over Rosi Sexton. The win actually earned her a spot in the promotion’s first woman’s tournament against opening round opponent Jessica Pene.
