According to the UFC’s Japan website, a middleweight bout between Yushin Okami and former WEC stud Chael Sonnen is set for UFC 104 in Los Angeles, California.

At 23-4, there is no denying Okami’s talents as he has been one of the division’s top contenders for quite some time. However, he has yet to thrill UFC brass enough to warrant a title fight. He was last seen dominating Dean Lister in December at UFC 92.

Okami was slated to return in May to fight Dan Miller, but was forced off the card due to a hand injury that has left him on the sidelines ever since.

Sonnen jumped into Okami’s spot and took a unanimous decision over Miller at UFC 98. Prior to that, he was humbled with a 1stRound submission loss to Demian Maia at UFC 95.

UFC 104 will be jumping off inside the Staples Center on October 24th. The night’s main event will feature UFC light heavyweight champ Lyoto Machida’s first-ever title defense against the rejuvenated Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
