UFC Middleweight Jorge Rivera

The middleweight clash that was originally set for this Saturday’s UFC 118 event has been rescheduled for UFC 122 after a pair of injuries forced both Jorge Rivera and Alessio Sakara off Boston’s first Octagon show.

As we reported last month, Rivera broke his arm and would be unable to compete in the organization’s debut inside TD Garden. Unfortunately for the veteran, Beantown is only a short car ride away from Rivera’s hometown of Milford.

The promotion had decided to move forward with Gerald Harris as Rivera’s replacement, but Sakara was then forced out with his own injury. Now it seems the 185-pounders will finally get a second chance to tango, as the Boston Herald has learned the scrap has been rebooked for UFC 122 in Germany.

Both fighters are currently working with three-fight win streaks and the winner could find themselves right in the thick of the middleweight title picture with an impressive finish.

UFC 122 is scheduled to go down on November 13th in Oberhausen, Germany.
