UFC.com has a report on their website that states that UFC President Dana White will make a ‘major announcement’ during the pre-fight press conference for UFC 82: Pride of a Champion later on today. The announcement will take place at 1PM ET and can be seen on UFC.com. MMA insiders expected a response from the UFC following yesterday’s big news about CBS teaming up with ProElite.

Here’s what UFC.com has to say about the announcement:

UFC® President Dana White will be making a major announcement at the UFC® 82 PRIDE OF A CHAMPION pre-fight press conference in Columbus, Ohio.

UFC.COM will feature the official announcement at 1pm EST. Look for video highlights of the press conference featuring Dana White, along with a special guest, making the announcement later in the day.

ProElite’s deal with CBS was the big news making the rounds yesterday and Dana White has never been one to let someone else take his limelight. It’ll be interesting to see what White’s announcement will be as there are a lot of rumors flying around about what it can be, but nothing is confirmed at this point in time.
