UFC Middleweight Nate Marquardt

On paper, “UFC Fight Night 22” certainly isn’t the most thrilling fight card the organization has to offer. Thankfully, Spike TV will be airing the card for free on September 15th. Your taste buds still aren’t tantalized? Well, the Gambling Gods would like to suggest the perfect way to get your blood pumping.

The card will feature a pivotal middleweight battle between Rousimar Palhares and Nathan Marquardt.

Palhares holds a respectable 11-2 record and has rattled off three straight wins. The Brazilian jiu jitsu stud has finished eight of his wins via submission, so you know he’ll be seeking to drag the former top contender to the canvas STAT.

Marquardt looks to rebound from a unanimous decision loss to Chael Sonnen, who earned a shot at Anderson Silva’s title with his performance at UFC 109 in February. Despite the minor setback, Marquardt still owns an impressive 29-9-2 resume and remains one of the planet’s best 185-pounders.

The powers that be have pegged “Nate the Great” as nearly a 2.5-to-1 favorite to get back on the winning track.
