As expected, Josh Koscheck will be entering his showdown with welterweight king Georges St-Pierre as a significant underdog. Although, after it was confirmed earlier this week that he would face the planet’s baddest 170-pounder in GSP’s backyard of Montreal, the Gambling Gods had no choice but to adjust the line ever so slightly.
The challenger shouldn’t feel too badly about his longshot status because St-Pierre was an 8-to-1 favorite in his last outing against Dan Hardy. Now that he’s at -450, the powers that be clearly believe Koscheck will be able to present much greater resistance than the Brit.
Koscheck started as a 3-to-1 underdog when the line first opened. However, now that the two will rematch at the Bell Centre in Canada, his pot has been sweetened to the tune of +325.
The champ’s line didn’t move after the location of their scrap was reported.
Koscheck will finally be granted a shot to redeem his unanimous decision loss to St-Pierre from August 2007 when they collide at UFC 124 on December 11th.
