With one simple tweet, middleweight Kendall Grove revealed to the world his future plans. Late Tuesday night, the Hawaiian confirmed he will face Brazilian jiu jitsu ace Demian Maia at ”The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale.”
“December 4 live on spike tuff 12 final grove vs maia,” Grove posted. “I know he’s one of da best that’s y I took the fight I’m here to do it big and I know what da [expletive] I’m doing just enjoy da fight cause I will.”
This is somewhat of a surprising move considering Grove was recently demoted from a televised “UFC Prelims” scrap against Goran Reljic. Spike TV and Octagon brass didn’t appreciate him sharing his two cents regarding “The Ultimate Fighter,” the very same reality show that jumpstarted his career not too many moons ago.
Despite being in the doghouse, Grove managed to get back on the winning track by collecting a close split decision over Reljic. It was a much needed win for the former TUF 3 winner.
Maia took an uneventful unanimous decision victory over Mario Miranda at UFC 118 just a couple of weeks back. He co-starred in middleweight king Anderson Silva’s circus sideshow act at UFC 112 in his outing prior to that.
“The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale” will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, however no venue has officially been announced.
Here are the other athletes rumored/expected to participate in the Spike TV broadcast:
