The world knows Nostradamus as the man that predicted many major world events.  His prophecies are undeniable and have created quite the cult following.   Well 5thRounders, Ngo-stramanus will look to do the same thing, but in the context of the MMA world.   Coming off a perfect round of predictions at UFC 81, posting and astonishing 5-0,  read what the all mighty Ngo-stradamus foresees taking place at UFC 82Alessio Sakara (+130) vs. Chris Leben (-160)
Sakara has been somewhat of a steppingstone for a lot of UFC fighters making their way up the rankings (Houston Alexander, Drew McFedries  and Dean Lister to name a few), and this match up against Leben could very well be the same situation.

Leben has been quite inconsistent since his emergence into the UFC, winning his first five bouts, then dropping three of his next five. However, he has re-dedicated himself to his training and is coming off of an impressive win over James Lee. The UFC would like nothing more than to have Leben as one of their top fighters, given his knockout power and marketability from TUF Show. Look for Leben to end this fight in exciting fashion, as he always tries to do.

Ngo-stadamus predicts:Leban by 3rdRound (T)KO

Evan Tanner (+160) vs. Yushin Okami (-200)

This will be Tanner’s first MMA fight in almost two full years, while Okami has been busy taking on the best competition in the UFC Middleweight division. He has won seven of his last eight bouts, with his only loss coming at the hands for former champion Rich Franklin.

Tanner will be looking to get his career back on track after coming off his hiatus. Unfortunately, he is not getting an bunny in his first fight back. Okami has emerged as a force during the time in which Tanner was out, and Tanner may very well find out that the parade has passed him by.

Ngo-stadamus predicts: Okami  by 2ndRound Submission

Jon Fitch (-600) vs. Chris Wilson (+400)

There is a reason why Fitch enters this fight as a 6-1 favorite,  he has won 14 consecutive fights against some of the best competition in the world. His latest victory came in a convincing match up against up and coming Diego Sanchez.

Wilson is no slouch, winning his last four bouts, however that has been against B and C-Level competition and this will also be his debut in the UFC. He may just be thankful that he was given this opportunity, be overwhelmed by the bright lights and big stage and call it a day. If he doesn’t, Fitch will call it a day for him.

Ngo-stadamus predicts: Fitch by 1stRound T(KO)

Cheick Kongo (-165) vs. Heath Herring (+135)

Although Kongo has shown major improvement in his MMA game, and is coming off of the biggest “W” in his career beating Mirko Cro Cop, he still has not shown the ability needed to compete on ground.  Although they are very muscular, his legs are very long and lanky which leaves his base susceptible for take downs.  And we all know that once he is on his back, he is a totally different fighter as he showed in his shocking loss to Carmelo Marrero.

This disadvantage plays right into the hands of Herrings skill set. Although Herring has been a major disappointment since coming into the UFC, he did fight well in a tough decision loss to current UFC Champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira . Albeit a loss, he showed that he still has the ability to compete at a world class level, which is why Ngo-stradamus is picking this fight as the upset of the night.  Herring may win it via Ln’P, but a win is a win.

Ngo-stadamus predicts: Herring by Unanimous Decision

Anderson Silva (-150) vs. Dan Henderson (+120)

Well I hope that you MMA fans are as pumped for this fight as I am because we are in for a real treat today. I see this as being one of, if not the fight of the year.  Styles make fights, and if Henderson is able to impose his will this may be a long night for Silva. Obliviously, there are not too many fighters that want to try and stand with Silva, who has shown to be the most efficient striker in the game, and look for Henderson to avoid that as well.

However, what separates him from past Silva opponents is that his hands are heavy so Silva has to respect him more than previous opponents, which will allow Henderson to come close enough to clinch and take down the UFC champion.  If Henderson is able to take him down, look for Henderson to dominate top position with his superior wrestling skills and try to inflict some Gn’P.

The only issue with this game plan is that Silva is a solid jiu-jitsu fighter and is always dangerous on his back. In addition to that, how long will Henderson be able to last in a stand up fight before Silva starts to find his groove?  This is a tough call, but the way he has looked since entering the UFC, I don’t know who you can bet against Silva, that is why I won’t.

Ngo-stadamus predicts: Silva by 4thRound (T)KO
