UFC Lightweight Andre Winner

Explosive lightweights Dennis Siver and Andre Winner are all but set for a showdown when the Octagon returns to Germany for UFC 122.

Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com was able to confirm the bout with sources close to the situation.

Siver may be known by most fans as the guy who throws spinning back kicks during fights, but he’s also the dude that’s posted an impressive 4-1 record for the world’s premier mixed martial arts promotion.

His opponent, Winner, is looking to bounce back from a thorough wrestling clinic courtesy of Nik Lentz at UFC 118. Although Winner is a dynamic striker, his lack of takedown D was spotlighted and perhaps is why UFC brass feel a bout with Siver would be much more fitting.

Both 155-pounders are known for their impressive stand-up and should provide a good show for the German fans, who have been craving some UFC action since UFC 99 went down back in June of 2009.

UFC 122 is currently scheduled for November 13th at the Konig Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen and is expected to air on Spike TV via same-day tape-delay.

The main event will feature a pair of middleweight contenders when Vitor Belfort and Yushin Okami go head-to-head to see who may get a shot at Anderson Silva’s strap after Chael Sonnen.
