Shortly after confirming a pivotal light heavyweight scrap between former title holders Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Lyoto Machida would headline their November 20th show, the organization released the official event poster for the Octagon’s long-awaited return to the Motor City.
Jackson holds a 30-8 record and has faced the best the world has had to offer, beating most of them. The former Pride superstar scored knockout victories over Chuck Liddell and Wanderlei Silva and decision wins over Dan Henderson and Keith Jardine since entering the Octagon back in February 2007.
“The Dragon” is a Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt and was perfect through his first 16 professional fights. Unfortunately, Machida was forced to rematch Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 113 and had his title jacked by the time he regained consciousness.
The pay-per-view broadcast takes place inside The Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit, Michigan.
On a side note, this is one of the more aesthetically appealing UFC event posters in quite some time.
Here is the roster that has been rumored for the extravaganza:
Darren Elkins vs. Edson Barboza
Gabe Ruediger vs. Paul Kelly
Gerald Harris vs Maiquel Falcao
Dennis Hallman vs. Karo Parisyan
Rory MacDonald vs Matt Brown
Mark Munoz vs. Aaron Simpson
Nik Lentz vs. Tyson Griffin
Tim Boetsch vs. Phil Davis
Joe Lauzon and George Sotiropoulos
Matt Hughes vs. BJ Penn
