The Octagon made its long awaited Hoosier State debut Saturday night inside the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The card featured a heavyweight battle between former Octagon title holder Frank Mir and Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic. Mir was looking to bounce back from a TKO loss to Shane Carwin at UFC 111 in March, while CC just submitted Pat Barry at UFC 115 just three months ago.
The last time the 36-year-old doubled back so quickly was following his TKO win over Mostapha Al-Turk at UFC 99 in June 2009. He was violently put down by Junior dos Santos a few months later at UFC 103.
