With Mauricio “Shogun” Rua having to pull out of UFC 85 at the 02 Arena in London, England, the UFC has asked undefeated Light Heavyweight Rashad Evans to step in against his toughest opponent to date according to a report on MMAWeekly. Chuck Liddell is coming off of a huge victory over Wanderlei Silva, and is looking to earn himself a Light Heavyweight title shot with the win.

Evans is coming off of a victory over Michael Bisping at UFC 78, the first match to ever pit two former TUF champions against each other. Although it wasn’t an impressive victory by any means, it was clear-cut that he was the victor.

The winner of the Rua/Liddell match was slated to be the next in line for the UFC Light Heavyweight title that will be disputed at UFC 86 on July 5th according to Sam Caplan. Evans’ title aspirations will depend on how impressive he looks if successful against Liddell.

It is also being reported that UFC 85 may be on SpikeTV for free because of the time difference from England to the United States. The last time a UFC Pay-Per-View was on SpikeTV for free was UFC 75: Champion vs. Champion.
