Today on ESPN’s First Take show host Jay Crawford announced that Zuffa, the company that owns the UFC, is looking to get MMA legalized in the state of New York. Crawford went on to say, “Zuffa is launching a public campaign today to get Mixed Martial Arts fighting legalized in the empire state”. New York had banned MMA eleven years ago.

New York is still the largest market in the world when it comes to professional sports, so it only makes sense that Zuffa and the UFC would want to come back to the state that’ll yield high financial returns.

There’s no word yet as to how the public campaign will begin, but one has to assume that either newspaper ads or a giant billboard would be one of the ways that Zuffa will use to get the ball rolling.
