The UFC will call on two former “The Ultimate Fighter” alums to compete in separate bouts at “The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale” on December 4th. The Pearl at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada will host the Spike TV event.
Season 3 winner Kendall Grove will go toe-to-toe with former top contender Demian Maia in a pivotal middleweight bout. Both fighters are looking to collect their second straight win.
Grove took home a split decision over Goran Reljic at UFC 116, while Maia bounced back from an unusual loss to Anderson Silva at UFC 112 by getting past one of “The Spider’s” training partners in Mario Miranda at UFC 118.
Original TUF cast member Stephan Bonnar will also be in action. The Season 1 finalist will go up against Croatian Igor Pokrajac in a light heavyweight bout. Bonnar ended a three-fight skid by stopping Krzysztof Soszynski at UFC 116 in a rematch of their controversial UFC 110 scrap.
Pokrajac finally got his first scratch in his third Octagon appearance by submitting James Irvin this past August at “UFC on Versus 2.”
This season of TUF features the UFC’s top two welterweights in current champion Georges St-Pierre and No. 1 contender Josh Koscheck as its coaches. The 170-pounders will square off for the title at UFC 124 in St-Pierre’s hometown of Montreal on December 11th.
More bouts for the Finale will be announced as this season comes to an end, but if you want to keep up with all the action make sure to tune into Spike TV every Wednesday night at 10PM ET/PT.
