Tito Ortiz fight with Lyoto Machida still on for May 24th

There was a rumor on the Internet today that Tito Ortiz was going to pull out of his fight with Lyoto Machida at UFC 84 because of an injury. MMAWeekly was able to get in contact with Ortiz where he quickly dispelled the rumor by saying, “The fight is still a go.”

The Machida/Ortiz fight has been mentioned a couple of times now about a possible cancellation, mostly on Ortiz’ side but the fight is still on.

UFC 84 will be Ortiz’ last fight in the UFC according to Ortiz, but UFC President Dana White is willing to entertain negotiations about re-signing the former Light Heavyweight champion. With the possibility of Ortiz signing with the now network-backed EliteXC, it makes sense that White would want to keep him inside the Octagon.
