Word on the street is that Wanderlei Silva will be making his UFC middleweight debut at UFC 105 on November 14th against Michael Bisping on the Brit’s home turf.
MMAjunkie.com is reporting that Silva is currently in talks to headline opposite Bisping for the promotion’s long-awaited return to England.
It is believed that bout agreements are expected to be distributed shortly, with an official announcement coming as soon as next week.
“The Axe Murderer” most recently dropped a unanimous decision to Rich Franklin in a 195-pound catchweight bout at UFC 99 last month. Silva needs to pick up a win desperately as the former PrideFC 205-pound champion has dropped five of his last six fights.
Wandy ended up unconscious in three of those losses.
Speaking of being slapped silly, Bisping was put to sleep by Dan Henderson in the 2ndRound of their UFC 100 scrap a couple weeks back.
Bisping looked hesitant throughout the fight, failing to unleash the relentless beast that helped forge him into UFC middleweight title contention.
UFC 105 will be popping off inside the Manchester Evening News Arena in Manchester, England. It is believed the Spike TV broadcast will be offered for free in the U.S. via same-day tape delay.
It is being heavily rumored that Bisping will be joined on the card by his “The Ultimate Fighter 9” proteges James Wilks and Ross Pearson, TUF 8 welterweight and lightweight tourney winners, respectively.
Popular English fighter and rising UFC star Dan Hardy is also rumored to be participating in the show.
