Don’t forget to catch heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar and Cain Velasquez starring in tonight’s installment of “UFC Primetime: Lesnar vs. Velasquez.” The second of the three-part series airs on Spike TV beginning at 11PM ET/PT.
The first episode debuted last Wednesday to lower than expected rating. Octagon brass are hoping the final editions will help generate more hoopla for the deepest fight card of 2010. The third installment will air next Wednesday, October 20th at 11PM ET/PT.
“UFC Primetime” provides an in-depth look into the lives of Lesnar and Velasquez. As the two prepare for their October 23rd date, Spike TV will take viewers from rural Minnesota where Lesnar trains with the DeathClutch/Minnesota Martial Arts Academy to San Jose, CA, where Velasquez works with the famed American Kickboxing Academy team.
Lesnar is coming off a come-from-behind victory over Shane Carwin at UFC 116. The former pro wrestler was on his heels after being hurt badly by the heavy handed Carwin in the opening round, but managed to rally and unify the heavyweight title.
Velasquez is looking to capitalize on the most impressive win of his young career after stopping MMA legend Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in his tracks at UFC 110 in Australia.
The event marks the Octagon’s long awaited return to the Southern California area, as Anaheim’s Honda Center will host the extravaganza.
