UFC Heavyweight Cain Velasquez

According to ESPN’s Sport Science, the force packed behind UFC heavyweight Cain Velasquez’s takedowns are on par with NFL defensive lineman Dwight Freeney’s tackling prowess.

Thankfully for Octagon champion Brock Lensar, his “wannabe NFL playing” days left him a long time ago. So he won’t have to worry about giving up a sack tonight inside the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

According to ESPN’s tech geeks, Velasquez’s takedowns pack a whopping 2,700 pounds of force behind them. While Lesnar will be on high alert for a potential shot, a stand-up battle may not be his best alternative either.

Velasquez’s left hook registered at a devastating 2,230 pounds of force. Although the numbers are impressive, beating on a punching bag and tackling dummy are a lot different than attacking “The Baddest Man on the Planet.”
