UFC Light Heavyweight Lyoto Machida

Although former light heavyweight champions Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Lyoto Machida won’t headline UFC 123 for another few weeks, the Gambling Gods wait for nothing. The powers that be have just released the early betting lines for the November 20th extravaganza, sending gambleholics across the globe into a mass hysteria.

“The Dragon” is a Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt and was perfect through his first 16 professional fights. Unfortunately, Machida was forced to rematch Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 113 and had his title swiped by the time he regained consciousness.

“The Dragon” is nearly a 3-to-1 favorite to collect his 17th professional victory.

Jackson holds a 30-8 record and has faced the best the world has had to offer, while beating most of them. The former Pride superstar scored knockout victories over Chuck Liddell and Wanderlei Silva and decision wins over Dan Henderson and Keith Jardine since entering the Octagon back in February 2007.

Matt Hughes and BJ Penn will complete their trilogy in the night’s co-main event. “The Prodigy” has lost his last three welterweight affairs and is looking to rebound from back-to-back drubbings by lightweight king Frankie Edgar. Despite his less than spectacular run, Penn’s a -150 favorite for Part III.

UFC 123 will be jumping off inside the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit, Michigan.
