With less than two weeks before the curtain is drawn on UFC 123, the world’s premier mixed martial arts show has released the finalized roster for their long awaited return to Michigan.
The Palace at Auburn Hills in Detroit will host the November 20th event. A light heavyweight contest between former champs Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Lyoto Machida will headline the pay-per-view broadcast.
After being humbled by bitter rival Rashad Evans in his last outing at UFC 114, Rampage was quickly put to work at his part-time gig as the hype man for his summer film The A-Team. Now that B.A. Baracus has fulfilled his international promotional commitments, it’s time to pay some bills.
Machida lost the light heavyweight crown to reigning champ Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 113. After being handed his first professional blemish, “The Dragon” went back in the Brazilian lab and has promised to return a better version.
The card’s co-main event will feature BJ Penn vs. Matt Hughes III.
Here are the fighters that will dance in Motown:
Tyson Griffin vs. Nik Lentz
