UFC Poster 122 Nate Marquardt Yushin Okami

“UFC 122: Marquardt vs. Okami” took place Saturday inside the Konig Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen, Germany. Spike TV will treat North Americans to a freebie same-day tape-delay broadcast of the card’s main bouts beginning at 9PM ET/PT.

SPOILER ALERT: If you don’t want to know the results ahead of tonight’s airing, don’t continue reading. You have been WARNED!

The UFC’s return to Germany features a middleweight top contender bout between Nate Marquardt and Yushin Okami.

Marquardt has been here before. In fact, the talented 31-year-old has held practically every post in the weight class – outside of the one that matters the most. He bounced back from a disappointing showing against Chael Sonnen at UFC 109 in February by effortlessly disposing of Rousimar Palhares at “UFC Fight Night 22.”

Okami, on the other hand, is fresh off a split decision win over Mark Munoz at “UFC on Versus 2.” The talented, yet highly underrated, fighter has won five of his last six contests. His only blemish during the stretch came to the aforementioned Sonnen.

Anderson Silva puts his strap on the line against Vitor Belfort at UFC 126 on February 5th, with either Mr. Marquardt or Okami-san getting next dibs.

The planet’s baddest 185-pounder holds a devastating TKO victory over Marquardt from back in July 2007, while Okami was the last man to hang a loss on “The Spider.” He took a controversial DQ win in January 2006 at “Rumble on the Rock 8″ when Silva landed an illegal kick to the dome.

Neither Marquardt nor Okami have crossed paths with Belfort.
