Spike TV has announced this past Saturday’s same-day tape-delay broadcast of “UFC 122: Marquardt vs. Okami” garnered an average audience of 2.2 million viewers.
According to the report, the card earned a 1.4 household rating, which includes a 2.0 score among Men ages 18-49 and a 2.16 mark for Men 18-34.
UFC 122 took place inside the Konig Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen, Germany. The freebie airing featured a middleweight top contender scrap between Nate Marquardt and Yushin Okami.
Although Okami was the a significant underdog against “Nate the Great,” the Japanese stud consistently took the center of the cage and pressed the action.
“Thunder” stole Marquardt’s thunder and cruised to a (29-28, 30-27, 29-28) unanimous decision victory.
Reigning middleweight king Anderson Silva will put his title on the line against Vitor Belfort at UFC 126 on February 5th. Okami-san will then challenge the winner for the strap.
