After three months of dead silence, Chael Sonnen finally addressed his failed UFC 117 drug test with the California State Athletic Commission on Thursday. Before reporters could ask Sonnen any questions the board failed to fire at him, the chatty middleweight bolted as quietly as he came.
Now it appears we know why. HDNet’s “Inside MMA” has landed the exclusive with the controversial wrestler, so make sure you tune in Friday night at 8PM ET.
Sonnen tells Mike Straka in his one-on-one chat that he deserved to be punished because he violated the Commission’s testing protocol. However, Sonnen remained defiant about his actions.
“Even after today, I don’t know what I could have done differently,” Sonnen says. “Saying testosterone is a steroid is like saying mouthwash is alcohol.”
Hosts Kenny Rice and Bas Rutten are joined by Jonathan Brookins and Michael Johnson, the two finalists from “The Ultimate Fighter: Team GSP vs Team Koscheck.” The duo talk about Saturday night’s critical fight, as well as their experiences living in the TUF house.
Rounding out the panel is Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. The former UFC light heavyweight champ discusses his controversial victory over Lyoto Machida at UFC 123. Apparently, fans will be shocked to find out who he wants to fight next.
