“Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu II” Medical Suspensions Issued

The Missouri Office of Athletics has medically suspended eight athletes for injuries sustained during Saturday’s “Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu II” event inside the Scottrade Center in St. Louis.

According to MMAJunkie, main card fighters Renato “Babalu” Sobral, Scott Smith and Matt Lindland all face lengthy suspensions. The trio suffered devastating lights out losses in their respective scraps.

Babalu, who was put down in the 1stRound by veteran Dan Henderson, and Smith, who was slapped silly by Paul Daley, are both banned 60 days.

Lindland suffered an equally vicious knockout to Robbie Lawler, however will be forced to ride the pine for 120 days and must receive neurological clearance via MRI before returning to action.

Mike Kyle, Max Martyniouk, Terrell Brown, Lee Brousseau and Coltin Cole each received 30-day suspensions for precautionary reasons.
