According to MMAWeekly, a middleweight scrap between Mark Munoz and C.B. Dollaway will take place on a yet-to-be unannounced card in March. The wrestlers are expected to appear in the televised portion of the Versus broadcast.
Munoz was last seen taking a unanimous decision win over Aaron Simpson at UFC 123. “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” dons an impressive 9-2 MMA record and has ended five of his wins before the final horns have sounded.
Gathering talent to help him prepare for the former “The Ultimate Fighter7” finalist shouldn’t be an issue for Munoz, as his Team Reign houses a bevy of superstars. Jake Ellenberger and Krzysztof Soszynski are regulars at the famed Southern California facility, as well as Strikeforce studs Renato “Babalu” Sobral and Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal.
Furthermore, Anderson Silva, Junior dos Santos and Lyoto Machida are just down the I-405 at Team Black House.
Dollaway is riding a three-fight winning streak and was nearly flawless in his 1stRound submission victory over Joe Doerksen in his last foray.
UFC on Versus is rumored for early March and will signify the Octagon’s first Versus broadcast of the new decade. No date or venue have been determined for the freebie fight card.
