UFC President Dana White

UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta and president Dana White will be hitting the podium shortly in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Octagon brass are expected to make a “monumental” announcement live at  8AM PT/11AM ET (2PM BST).

Although there’s much drama surrounding Wednesday’s press conference, White and Co. are expected to confirm the company’s long awaited debut in the city.

Mayor Eduardo Paes, UFC champions Anderson Silva, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Jose Aldo will also be in attendance. Additionally, middleweight contender Vitor Belfort and Hall of Famer Royce Gracie are also expected to make a cameo inside the Palacio da Cidade.

It’s been over a decade since the Octagon last held a show on Brazilian soil. In 1998, Sao Paulo hosted “UFC 17.5: Ultimate Brazil.”

The UFC is having issues with their live video feed and just tweeted, “[The press conference] will stream HERE, not at UFCLive (PC only).”
